Voice dictation for Microsoft Word.

Word’s Dictate button types what you say. Vokalu types what you meant: fillers out, restarted sentences fixed, paragraphs that read like a document. Private mode keeps dictation on your computer when the document is sensitive.

01

Click where you’d type in Microsoft Word

Vokalu types wherever your cursor is: a message box, a prompt, a document, a comment.

02

Hold the shortcut and talk

Hold Ctrl + Win on Windows or Control + Option on Mac. Correct yourself as you go (“no wait, Friday”); Vokalu keeps only what you meant.

03

Let go, then read it once

The text appears in Microsoft Word, formatted for it. Check names, numbers and dates before you send anything.

What Vokalu does in Microsoft Word

Text going into Word is treated as a document: well-formed paragraphs, fillers and false starts removed, and self-corrections applied, in your own words.

The Word app is recognized by name on Windows and Mac.

Questions worth asking

How is this different from Word’s Dictate?

Word’s Dictate transcribes. Vokalu also cleans up and formats, and the same shortcut works in every other app.

Can I dictate offline in Word?

Yes, with Private mode, which recognizes speech on your computer for free after a one-time model download.
