FOR UX RESEARCHERS · WINDOWS AND MAC

User interview notes with the participant’s own words kept.

Synthesis starts with good notes, and good notes keep what the participant actually said. Vokalu’s User interview template organizes the session and keeps short quotes under each pain point, live or from a recording you upload.

WHAT YOU SAY
Honestly the Friday report is the worst part, I export it, fix the columns by hand, it takes me like two hours every week.
IN THE USER INTERVIEW TEMPLATE

Pain points: Weekly Friday report takes about two hours; columns are fixed by hand after export. “Honestly the Friday report is the worst part.”

Illustrative example, not a recorded customer result.

Note templates for this work

Pick a template when you start Notes, for a live meeting or an uploaded recording. Pain points come with short quotes from the participant, so your synthesis can cite them.

Dictation for the rest of the day

01

Upload sessions you recorded

MP3, M4A, WAV, MP4, MOV and more, up to three hours each. Vokalu reads the file on your computer and never stores it.

02

Ask across a session

“What did they say about exporting?” gets an answer from that session’s transcript.

03

Write the readout by voice

Dictate findings into Notion, Google Docs or Word, then tighten them with Command Mode.

Questions worth asking

Is the recording uploaded to Vokalu?

No. Vokalu opens the file on your computer and sends only the speech, about a minute at a time, to be transcribed. The file isn’t stored.

Does it tell speakers apart?

Yes, in live sessions and uploaded recordings. In live sessions, your microphone and the call’s audio are recorded as separate sources.
